Director P&R & Health Policy Insights – PharmD

Dr. Matni joined CCHO, the Center for Clinical, Health Economics and Outcomes Research as Senior Director, Health Policy & Payer Insights. Dr. Matni has more than 14 years of experience in the public sector. She worked in the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), Drug Distribution Center for Oncology, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, and other life-threatening diseases related drugs as the head of the committee in charge of receiving those medications. Then, she joined the National Social Security Fund, as drug committee member rapporteur, decision maker in registration and reimbursement of drugs in all therapeutic areas where she introduced the concept of Health Technology Assessment. She’s a lecturer at the Lebanese University-Faculty of Sciences, ESA Business School-MEMS, Sagesse University-Faculty of Public Health and Saint Joseph University as for topics related to Health Technology Assessment, Managed Entry Agreements, Health Economics and Health Systems. She is supervisor and reviewer of thesis, reviewer of articles in different journals ‘’International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health care’’, ‘’Value in Health Regional Issues’’ and has several publications in renowned journals. Dr. Matni is a speaker (English, French and Arabic) since 2011, participating in national and regional congresses targeting hospital pharmacists, oncology practitioners, health authority decision makers and Patient Advocacy Groups. Dr. Matni is the ex-president of the ISPOR (International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research) Lebanon Chapter, former president of the Lebanese Order of Pharmacists (LOP) Scientific Committee and former vice-president of the LOP Accreditation Committee. She was also a member in many joint committees-Economic Evaluation Joint Committee MOPH and MOPH/LOP joint committee of studying nonregistered drugs for named patients program. She served also as WHO (World Health Organization) Expert in projects related to drugs and incentives for innovation.
